What does "Fully managed" mean?
We take care of the infrastructure and platform behind your GitLab instance: the server and operating system, GitLab installation and configuration, version upgrades and related data migrations, CI/CD runners, TLS certificates, backups, monitoring and incident response. You manage your projects, users and pipelines; we manage the GitLab platform and its infrastructure.
Does my data stay in Romania?
Yes. ServerHost infrastructure is physically located in Romania, within the European Union, and data hosted on our infrastructure remains under European jurisdiction. We do not use external cloud infrastructure to provide our hosting services.
What is Managed GitLab and why does it matter?
Managed GitLab runs on our own infrastructure in Romania. Your code, pipelines and versioning data are hosted on a dedicated instance managed by ServerHost, without relying on GitLab.com or another external GitLab SaaS platform for the core service.
How many pipelines can I run, and are build minutes charged?
There are no build minutes and no per-job charges. The runners run on your instance's resources, so the only limit is its capacity: the more CPU and memory you allocate, the more jobs run in parallel. Configuring and monitoring the runners is included, and when builds start queueing we can increase the resources or add a separate runner.
Can I move my existing projects from GitHub, Bitbucket or GitLab.com?
Yes. GitLab provides importers for GitHub, Bitbucket and GitLab.com, allowing repositories to be migrated with their history and, where supported by the source platform, issues, merge requests and users. During initial setup, we assist with standard imports, from a few projects to an entire group. Large migrations involving hundreds of projects, pipeline rewrites for GitLab CI or migration plans that require minimal disruption to your team’s work are handled separately through our DevOps/SysAdmin services.
What happens if something breaks at night or over the weekend?
Monitoring runs continuously with automatic alerting. Human technical support is available Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 18:00. Guaranteed out-of-hours human intervention is available separately through our DevOps/SysAdmin service.
Is the GitLab instance dedicated?
Yes. Every Managed GitLab service runs on a GitLab instance dedicated to the client, separate from the instances of other clients. Resources can be extended later, depending on the number of users, projects and CI/CD workload.
Can I use my own domain for GitLab?
Yes. The instance can be set up on your own subdomain, for example git.your-company.com, with a TLS certificate included and renewed automatically.
